To Be a Friend or To Have a Friend?

The Seraphic Sisters Invite You: A Lenten Retreat for Young Women (Ages 18–35)

Saturday, February 21st, 2026 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Theme: To Be a Friend or To Have a Friend?

We all want to be seen, known, and chosen. We spend so much of our lives looking for the “perfect” friend—someone who understands us, stays loyal, and fills our loneliness. But this Lent, we are turning the question inward.

Following the example of Christ, who called us friends before we ever chose Him, we are exploring the shift from having to being. Lent is a season of pruning away our selfishness to make room for others. Join us as we move from the pursuit of being loved to the courage of loving first. We aren’t just looking for community; we are learning how to build it.

Our day is designed for spiritual renewal, including:

  • Holy Mass and Adoration
  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Inspiring Talks and Testimonies
  • Time for Silence (surrounded by beautiful nature)
  • Moments of Joy and Fellowship

Location:
Seraphic Franciscan Sisters Convent
Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa
138 Beethoven Ave, San Antonio, TX
